Week 1

There's not much left of our yard! Or the house for that matter.

This week I have been in hospital recovering from an operation so Michael has been the photographer.

We have been busy deciding on flooring, and I have started looking at kitchens. Our builders are really organised and want to know as much as they can about our ideas (often before we even start to think about these things). Pressure is on!

All the internal linings (walls and ceilings) have been removed, which revealed a bit more termite damage than we had expected. Turns out we need a new roof, which will add about $20K to the cost of the work, but we don't really have a choice. We are going to try to re-use the 1930s moss-covered roof tiles, which will be more expensive, but I think will help retain the character feeling of the house.

I don't think there's much more work to do before the house raising team come in and get the place ready to raise, which should be the first week of March. Exciting!
